LMK05318B: maximum clock output power

Part Number: LMK05318B

Can the clock output be configured to at least 10dbm power?

  • Hi

I have a LMK05318B Evaluation board and I did some measurements:

I'm using 32MHz LVCMOS type output at 50ohm load, and the output level is between +6 to +6.5dBm (for the 1st 32MHz harmonic only)

I also measured the entire signal bandwidth using a power meter, the signal power is about +9dBm at 50ohm load.

If you require at least +10dBm and your output load is 50ohm, I'm not sure it is possible.

If your output impedance is high, I think you'll be ok but the output will no longer be 50ohm matched and you will need to keep it very short in order to avoid reflections.

  • Hi Mien,

Per Nir's comments, 10 dBm power cannot be guaranteed. The maximum output swing is spec'ed in the datasheet as follows:

  • Hi Nir,

Thanks for checking on the eval board.
