LMK1C1102: Driving a long FPC with this part

Part Number: LMK1C1102
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK1C1104

I have an application where I need to drive a 24MHz clock over a 300mm FPC. It's not a good design but we're stuck with it. Is this an appropriate part for this application?

  • Hi Steve,

I ran a quick signal integrity for LMK1C11XX family for 20 inch of traces. It seems to work fine for your frequency case. I don't see any problems.

You can use LMK1C1104 device IBIS models on the website to verify these as well.

Note I assumed that the cable impedance is 50 ohm. I am not sure about FPC cable impedance in your case. If its 100 ohm or higher then you can expect overshoot.

20 inch transmission lines at VDD  = 3.3V  model parameters using Hyperlynx.

You can also check also verify for other cables types on your end using below IBIS models.
