LMK04228: LMK04228 Clock and Sync Pulse Output

Part Number: LMK04228
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TEST2

I want 38.4Mhz clock output and sync output via LMK04228.
OSCin uses 122.88Mhz and CLKin uses 38.4Mhz.
I want an output for the sync pulse based on the sync pulse input.
Figure 5. Curious how to set up TICS to use separate inputs and outputs simultaneously, such as the device and SYSREF clock output blocks from the datasheet.

My tcs file is attached below.

  • Hello Kim,

Unfortunately, our devices cannot output the SYNC pulse (since its just a pulse used to synchronize the outputs of the LMK). However, the SYSREF signal can be outputted to become an input of your system. From your TICS Pro I noticed you had already set the SYSREF. If you did not already do so, however, I would recommend you follow the steps in the data sheet on p. 24 on how to enable SYSREF to obtain that as your output signals. Also, in the LMK04828EVM User Guide on p. 5 there is another step by step guide on how to set up the device (both of this parts should be the same for setting up the SYSREF).

Regarding your questions about setting up TICS Pro, it seems that you already enables SYSREF and that's why you are getting a 38.4 MHz output in all your odd number outputs. TO set your even number outputs and zero, you have to choose what output type you would like from the drop-down next to the output, as shown in the picture below.

If you would like more help/clarification, please let me know why you would like to output the SYNC pulse.

    Good Luck,

    Andrea
