LMX2594: Differential RF Output

Part Number: LMX2594

I notice all output powers quoted on the data sheet are Single Ended, with either resistive or inductive pull-up.

It is the case that the output can be configured as differential out with 2x resistive or inductive pull-up for an extra 3dB(ish) of power?

Tnx

  • Hi Pete,

The RF output buffer is differential, so both pins (_P and _M) has the same output power but their phase is 180° out of phase. If you use a balun to combine them to a single-ended output, assuming there is no loss in the balun, you will get 3dB higher output power than you could get from each RF buffer pin.
