LMK04832-SP: Product information/Technical assistance request

Hi Experts,

Our customer will need to test LMK04832-SP components on a board and was hoping to use the LMK04832 evaluation board. Unfortunately, based on the datasheets, it does not appear to fit. Are we interpreting this correctly? If so, are there any other solutions?

For evaluating LMK04832-SP, I advised him to check LMK04832EVM-CVAL instead but he said that the have a budget problem with this. We hope to receive your advice/confirmation. Thank you.

    Hi Gerald,

    What is the operating mode the they are looking for using the LMK04832-SP?

    If it is generic PLL operation, they can validate using the commercial LMK04832 evaluation board. If operating in distribution mode at higher input frequency (above 3.2G) need to go with LMK04832-SP eval board.

    Hi Ajeet,

    THe customer is operating at an input frequency well below 3.2 GHz but in clock distribution mode. Would that qualify?

    For the clock distribution mode, it should be fine but can you let me know what specs doesn't fit for their requirements.

    Hi Ajeet,

    Please see below for our customer response:
    "It is the physical package of the space part that does not fit on the evaluation board for the commercial part. Unfortunately, the evaluation board for the space part is too expensive for our budget. If the evaluation board for the space part could be sold for less without the space part, that would be of interest but I suspect that that is not an option."

    Hi Gerald,

    I don't think the space EVM can be sold without the part on it. I would suggest to aligned with LMK04832-SP marketing engineer, who can suggest some idea for EVM.
