Dear all,

I would like your kindly support to help me about the OSCin input clock.

I would like to use a MEMS oscillator with LVCMOS output as external reference as shown in Figure 14 (datasheet SNAS522J). I did not find any information about "overall frequency stability" requirement.

Could I use a MEMS oscillator with 25ppm as overall frequency stability?

Hi AM,
This is not an issue but please be aware figure 14 is the suggested configuration if the SE input is less than the 2.4 V p-p requirement for OSCin.

Hi AM,
One more thing,
We have BAW oscillators which can be used as the input here. BAW (Bulk Acoustic Wave) offers superior jitter performance.
What input frequency and type (i.e. LVDS, SE, LVPECL, etc.) is required here?
That way I can suggest a PN from our LMK6 oscillator family which use BAW.

Hi Vicente,

I've used this configuration as suggested in Figure 14. I should to replace in my board a MEMS oscillator of 100MHz (LVCMOS typology QFN-4). This oscillator's 10ppm overall frequency stability. Because I did'nt find any frequency stability requirement I would like to know if it was possibile to use the same MEMS oscillator with different frequency stability.

Hi Angela,

We have a BAW oscillator which is LMK6C which is LVCMOS type with a 25 ppm frequency stability, it is not available in QFN package but instead in the following packages.

You can use an oscillator with 25 ppm frequency stability.
