LMX2694-EP: Lowest output power

Genius 15719 points
Part Number: LMX2694-EP

Hi Experts,

We received query from customer, asking the minimum transmit output power that they can configure to the RF synthesizer blow:

  • LMX2694SRTCTEP

For your support and advise.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

Based on the data sheet (p. 6), there is no minimum value of output power that will affect the part, as shown below; therefore, you should be able to configure the part as low as possible.

    Hope this helps!

    Good Luck,

    Andrea

  • Hello Andrea,

    Yes, that helps.

We want to know how low we can drive the output power to. Customer want it to go down to -10dBm. They set the OUTx_PWR to 15 or even 0, was getting -4dBm at 15GHz. If set it to 31, it gets 0dBm. Is there a setting that we can get to -10dBm?

    Please advise. Thank you.

    Regards,
    Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

If -4dBm is what the customer got at setting of 0, then this is the lowest output power we can configure. A 6dB pad after the synthesizer is a good idea to bring the power down.
