Please suggest Watch dog timer

Hi, 

We are planning to use Watchdog timer but processor booting time is 1min 12 secs. Normaly Watchdog internal  timer  will start in with in minute. so could you please suggest  more delay watchdog timer ?

    Hello Naresh,

    Please do have a look at new device family TPS3435 (www.ti.com/product/TPS3435).

    The device family can support multiple WD time options with start up delay and on the fly-programmability.

    The start up times are limited to 10 sec max which will not meet 1 min 12 sec time.

    The TPS3435 also supports on the fly-timing changes using SET pins.

    During boot process the default settings for SET pins can be wider than the boot time. This will ensure WD error does not reset processor during boot process. Once the processor boots up, processor can change the SETx pin logic levels to meet application WD timer settings.

    Please check if this works for you.

    Do let us know the WD timer setting needed once the processor boot is complete. This will help us arrive at required OPN. We can support the samples of OPN even if it is not released. Once you confirm the device meets application needs, we can work on release.
