LMK03328: clock frequency configure

Hi Team,

I would like to know how to adjust a little higher/lower for the output clock frequency of LMK03328RHSR. Can we control it via I2C interface? Could you pls help?

    The I2C interface allows all of the device registers to be configured. If the customer knows specifically what the new output frequency is, they can use TICS to calculate the required register settings and then perform the changes through I2C and reset the device, this is normally what we expect customers to do. If they just want to increase or decrease the output frequencies in real time, they could try editing the output divider registers by making the values bigger or lower. This would not be very precise but should be OK for experimentation. If they want the adjustments to be small, they should try to find a starting configuration with high output divider values so that the % change per step is smaller.

    Engineers try to modify the output frequency of LMK03328. It can be modified with TICSPRO, but after shutdown and restart, the frequency is still restored to the state of the chip pre-programmed before rewriting. Would like to ask, how to fix the frequency?

  • Hi Hailiang,

    For register changes to be kept through power cycles, they need to write the configuration to EEPROM to reprogram the startup configuration. This should be done after they are done adjusting the output frequency and have finalized it. Keep in mind that the EEPROM is only rated for 100 write cycles, so there is a limit to how many times they can fix the frequency (register changes are not limited).
