Hello Support team,
My customer ask CDCDB400 support. Datasheet shows CDCDB400 support gen 1-6, but, figure on datasheet shows Gen4-5 only. Does CDCDB400 have any limitation for Gen1-2 usage?
Thanks,
Koji Ikeda

Hi Koji-san,
Generally speaking the higher generations of PCIe have more strict performance requirements, so a device compatible with 4-5 should not have issues with 1-2. I have paged our clock buffer marketing expert in case she has other comments.

Koji-san,
The part you have circle is the reference clock providing the signal into the CDCDB400 PCIe Gen 1 - 6 device. The picture indicates if you were to have a clock gen that is Gen 4-5 our buffer is able to accept the signal and fan it out efficiently. All of our PCIe clocking devices are backwards compatible so they can support Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4, Gen 5, and Gen 6
