CDCE6214: LVCMOS OUT0

Part Number: CDCE6214

Hi Team,

Can I DC couple OUT0 (LVCMOS)? The data sheet states that LVCMOS are designed for capacitive loads only but the Parameter measurement section  (8.2 Outputs) figure 10 of the datasheet shows it DC coupled to a 50 ohm load. Then section 8.5.2 figure 19 shows it driving a capacitive load.  So it's not clear to me what the capabilities of OUT0 truly are. Can I DC couple into a 50 ohm load or a higher impedance CMOS input?

Thank you.

  • Hi Mark,

I've been told that the "capacitive load" condition means that the output shouldn't be attached to a purely resistive load like a 50 Ohm resistor for example. A proper CMOS receiver should have enough capacitance to work properly, so DC coupling should be perfectly fine.

    Best,
