LMX2594: Technical Support

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2572

Hi,

What is the amplitude  Unbalance (dB) and Phase Unbalance (degree) of both LMX2594 and LMX2572 for the following sets:

With respect to LMX2594:

1) Between RFOUTAP and RFOUTBP when used as single ended outputs?

2) Between RFOUTAP and RFOUTAM when used as differential pair?

3)  Between RFOUTBP and RFOUTBM when used as differential pair?

4) Between RFOUTA and RFOUTB when both used as two differential pair?

Also what is the step(dBm) in which the output power can be varied with the help of OUTx_PWR register?

With respect to LMX2572:

1) Between RFOUTAP and RFOUTBP when used as single ended outputs?

2) Between RFOUTAP and RFOUTAM when used as differential pair?

3)  Between RFOUTBP and RFOUTBM when used as differential pair?

4) Between RFOUTA and RFOUTB when both used as two differential pair?

  • Hi Aishwarya,

    We don't have these data.

Both output buffer A and B are identical, in theory, amplitude unbalance is very small (< 1 dB). If both output are direct VCO output, then phase unbalance is also very small (< 5 ps).

Output power control is not digital, use the plot in the datasheet to determine the output power level vs power setting.

  • Hi,

I want to provide pull_up for RF_OUTA and RF_OUTB. Since i have provided inductor pull-up kindly confirm whether the denoted set up is correct to match 50 ohm impedance as well

  • Hi Aishwarya,

This pull up works, you may need to tweak the inductor value to optimize output power.

Depending on you pcb layout, you may need more Vcc bypass capacitors, in the schematic, you only have one (C259).
