TPL5111: Replacement by functionallity

Part Number: TPL5111

Hello, in the past I tried to use the TPL5111 to turn on the power supply of my circuit. The functionality that I now require is that it resets itself only when it receives a done signal. In other words, I'm looking for a timer that activates at fixed intervals (and turn off when idone signal is received) but allows the interval to be exceeded until a done signal is received.

Is there any component to do this task with nA current compsumtion?

Regards.

  • Hi ARES,

Sorry for my delay in getting to your question. I've been looking over the entire timer lineup and I do not think that TI offers anything with that exact functionality in the RTC family. That being said, I am going to spend a bit more time mulling things over to suggest the best component possible.

  • Hi again,

After looking over your question some more, it seems to me like you are not concerned about the watchdog functionality of the timer. If that is the case, my recommendation would be to use the TPL5111, set the delay interval to be significantly longer than any of your use cases, and treat the M_RST pin as your DONE pin. Doing so will reset your timer interval, and the timer will still activate at fixed intervals.
