TICSPRO-SW: How to enable option to use FTDI interface for device communication

Part Number: TICSPRO-SW
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04828, USB2ANY

Hello,

I am currently working with an Arria 10 SOC Evaluation Board, which includes a LMK04828 clock jitter cleaner. In this board, the device is connected to a USB port through a FTDI chip. I would like to configure the LMK device using your TICS PRO Software. I downloaded it and isntalled but I am not able to enable the FTDI interface, only the USB2ANY interface. See attached picture. How can I activate the FTDI interface?

Thank you in advance.

  • Alberte,

TICS Pro currently only supports FTDI interface for certain legacy TI evaluation modules, and LMK04828 is not one of them. There is currently no way to do this through TICS Pro. The Arria 10 SOC evaluation board is a third-party evaluation board, and does not appear designed to work with TICS Pro. There may be a way to modify the Arria 10 SOC board to accept USB2ANY, which would enable direct use of TICS Pro, but otherwise you are limited to importing and exporting register settings between third party software and TICS Pro. The File => Import/Export Hex Register Values menu options in TICS Pro can generate a text file with address and data, which would either be imported by third party software directly or otherwise transformed into a format third party software can accept.

We do have plans in the future to allow arbitrary interfaces instead of just USB2ANY, but this is unlikely to be available soon.

    Regards,
