LMK1C1102: Output series resistors or not?

Hi,

In the datasheet it is stated that the output impedance is 50 ohm, but in the application example (section 10.2) it is sugested to use a serie resistor even though the transmission line is 50 ohm.

What is the explanation for that?

Hi Gert,
The 0 ohm series resistor is usually populated as a placeholder. The series resistor gives the customer the benefit of being able to change the trace impedance if needed.

I'm sure I will keep the 50 ohm trace impedance, hence I will skip the resistor
