LMK5B33216: Difference between HSDS and LVPECL

Hi，

I have seen LMK5B33216 don't support LVPECL output, but HSDS can providing similar levels.

Could you tell some more difference between them, and how can I use HSDS to replace LVPECL.

Now my customer need big output voltage swing, is it an advantage of HSDS.

Can you please share their receiver datasheet/input requirements (i.e., common-mode voltage and swing)?

LMK5B33216 supports a wide range of common-modes and swings. I can help provide a suggestion based on their receiver.

Hi Well,

Please have them use this termination flow:

HSDS outputs --> AC coupling capacitors --> receiver.

The receiver is internally terminated so no external termination is required besides the AC coupling capacitors.

The HSDS output swing setting should be set to 1000 mV and the common-mode voltage (VCM) is a don't care (setting 1 will do)
