CDCE6214-Q1: I2C communication issue

Part Number: CDCE6214-Q1

Hi experts,

It seems the I2C cannot be used once the HW_SW_CTRL is low in the design.

After HW_SW_CTRL is set to high, it can works.

Also I have noticed there is one sentences "For factory programmed device, I2C interface is not available when HW_SW_CTRL is LOW."

Would you please let us know the meaning of "factory programmed device"?

Is this problem related to this sentences?

  • Bob,

When on EEPROM Page 0 (HW_SW_CTRL pin low), the I2C interface is not available unless this EEPROM page is overwritten. Overwriting the contents of this EEPROM page can be done when starting up on either EEPROM Page 1 or in Fallback mode. The "factory programmed device" refers to a part that comes from TI that has not had any additional EEPROM programming to change the contents of the EEPROM pages.

    Thanks,

    Kadeem
