Dear TI support,

Appreciate your answers to the following questions below:

1. Does CDCE62005 come pre-burned from TI with our specific specifications?

2. The clock generator need to be configured every power-up?

3. Is there an external burner I need to use to burn the component?

    4. Also, correct if I'm wrong, in order to prevent the factory default of CDCE62005 output usage should I keep down Power_down Pin, enter ENCAL_MODE, burn, and then let the clock generator run? It seems unlogical... the factory default of this component can cause TI DSP 6655 clock input errors until the clock generator is configured. Please explain how should I burn the clock generator before the default configuration affects the connected device

    Hello Daniel,

    1. What specific specifications did you need?

    2-4. The CDCE62005 uses the EEPROM for initial startup. The EEPROM can be programmed through SPI to a different configuration based on your needs. Once the EEPROM is reprogrammed you no longer need to reconfigure the device every power-up unless you want a different configuration.

      1. Unless you have a custom part number that you are receiving from TI, the EEPROM of this part is programmed with the defaults specified in the datasheet.

      1. If the default configuration is not suitable, then there are two options:
        1. Program the part at startup each time
        2. Reprogram the EEPROM of the device

      1. Please see this except from the datasheet on the procedure for loading from EEPROM at startup:
      3. On the evaluation module, the /PD pin is pulled high through a 10k resistor ,and the SPI_LE pin is pulled high with a 4.7k resistor. Once the SPI_LE pin is high, the rising edge of the /PD pin triggers the load from the EEPROM into the live device registers.
