LMX2571: external VCO input power range

Hi Team,

From the datasheet, it only shows the MIN of external VCO power, is there any MAX value for the input VCO power?

How does it affect the performance of device when the external VCO input power increase? Are there any application level risk?

    Hi Adrian,

    min. value is more useful to the customers because if there is not sufficient input power to the PLL, the PLL may not lock or phase noise will degrade.

    For the max. value, as long as the signal is not big enough to damage the device, it should be fine. I would say 10dBm is a reasonable max. value.
