LMK05028EVM: LMK05028 in 1 PPS synchronizing aplications or LMK5C33216 - LMK5B33216

Part Number: LMK05028EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK5C33216, LMK5B33216, LMK05028

Hi Expert,

I have purchased the LMK05028EVM board with the objetive of development of a sensor acquisition system, capable of synchronizing measurements in various locations using the GPS 1 PPS signal. In general, the idea is to use the 1 PPS signal as a reference and generate two synchronized signals in the rise edge: one of 1 PPS and another of 1,024 MHz.

However, after consulting the forum, (https://e2e.ti.com/support/clock-timing-group/clock-and-timing/f/clock-timing-forum/1111117/lmk05028-ref0-validation-always-fail) I noticed that the LMK05028 chip is not recommended due to problems with matching with the 1 PPS signal, and moreover that this feature will be removed from the specifications. Instead, it is advised to consider the LMK5C33216 and LMK5B33216 chips for applications of this type.

The question arises: Is it possible to achieve this specific application with the LMK05028 chip, or would it be more appropriate to consider acquiring another development board that uses the recommended chips, such as LMK5C33216, LMK5B33216, or another that suits the application?

Thanks

Javier
