LMK04832: Input signal

LMK04832 supports both square wave and sine wave clock sources for its input.

With sine wave sources, you have to be careful of the minimum input slew rate requirements and the maximum input magnitude. A sine wave has slew rate of 2π*f*Vpk. To achieve the minimum input slew rate requirement of 0.15V/ns at 10MHz, Vpk = 2.38V, implying Vpp = 4.76V which greatly exceeds the maximum amplitude of the input pins (as well as the supply voltage, resulting in ESD diode activation). A clipped sine wave is required at lower frequencies to meet the minimum input slew rate requirements.
