watchdog monitor Device Recommendation?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3435

Hi Team,

Hope you are well.

I am looking for a device to act as a watchdog monitor. What we are doing is feeding in a clock with about a 976Hz period. While that signal is pulsing at the correct period we want to assert an output high. If that clock stops pulsing we would want to drive that signal low. We would want the device to respond within 100ms of the last rising or falling edge.

The issue I am having is that most parts that I am seeing that might meet this criteria only output a single pulse. Do you know of any parts within TI’s catalog that would meet the above criteria?

Thanks!

Connor

  • Hello Connor,

Please have a look at TPS3435 family of watchdog devices.

I think, you want the output to stay low indefinitely (latched state) in case of watchdog error.

The pinout C of TPS3435 supports this feature.

Please have a look and let me know if any queries you have. The latched output variant is not RTM but we can share samples and release relavant variant in next set of releases.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Shridhar.
