LMX1204: Clock out power level

Part Number: LMX1204

Hi IT team,

I'm using LMX1204 in my project. I got a doubt in power level of clock out signal when I was going through the datasheet. As per figure 6-14: CLKOUT Waveform at 1 GHz, in which square waveform is used for the analysis and the Vo(peak) is 500mV whose power out level is mentioned as 4dBm. But when I calculated Vo(peak) for the power level of 4dBm, it's around 354mV. Please provide clock out waveform for 7G to 8G and the power level details. If possible provide details for sine waveform also, I'll help for my analysis.

Thank you.

  • Hi Rajendra,
I don't quite understand what you're saying with

for the power level of 4dBm, it's around 354mV.

    Are you measuring 354mV amplitude, Vp-p? Nevertheless, that's not equivalent to 4dBm. At 4dBm I expect ~1Vp-p

At 1GHz, I expect around 7dBm of power single ended.

Plot 6-14 is expected at 1GHz for RFout = 1GHz and CLKOUTx_PWR =7 (max) according to plot above as well.

Please use plot 6-12 to estimate RF output power at 7GHz to 8 GHz for corresponding  OUTx_PWR.

    Regards,

    Vicente
