LMX2571: simultaneous output

Part Number: LMX2571
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2572

Hi,

According to the datasheet, "The switch can also be configured as a 1:2 fanout buffer, providing the signal on both outputs at the same time."

What is the time difference between the two outputs? Are there any regulations?
Since there is only one PLL system, the two outputs appear to have no time difference at all.

When the customer evaluated it, he said, "Not at the same time."
(But I think it is very difficult to measure the difference in time axis, although it depends on the frequency.)

Is it better to use another product to ensure concurrency in time domain?
Since LMX2572 has a Phase Adjustment function,
Should I recommend this?

Best regards,
Hiroshi

  • Hello Hiroshi,

There is no difference in the outputs.
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here.

    Both outputs can be enabled/disabled.

When the customer evaluated it, he said, "Not at the same time."

    Can you elaborate on this?

Is it better to use another product to ensure concurrency in time domain?

Can customer provide clock tree so I can provide suggestions? Does customer have any feature requirements such as phase adjustment, SYSREF, etc.?

    Regards,

    Vicente

  • Hi Vincent,
    Thank you for answering.

We also thought that TX/RX output was the same, but the customer complained that they were not simultaneous, so we inquired.

I will  get the customer's TICS-Pro file and check the settings.

    Best regards,
    Hiroshi
