NE555: Timer IC supporting AECQ100

Part Number: NE555
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC555-Q1

Hi Team,

Are there any timer IC qualified by AECQ100 that meets following requirement?

[Requirement]

keep Hi output for "adjustable time" triggered by input edge.

Regards,

Kai

  • Hello Kai,

The TLC555-Q1 is qualified to AECQ100 and should provide the behavior you're looking for. Regarding the adjustable output length, what are the timing requirements (minimum and maximum output pulse duration)?

However, the trigger input is level sensitive and active low, as opposed to edge sensitive and active high. From your diagram, the level trigger shouldn't be an issue.

To achieve your design requirements using the TLC555-Q1:

    • The device would be used in monostable mode.

    • The input signal would need to be inverted using a logic inverter. (Like the SN74LVC1GU04)

    • In monostable mode, the output pulse width is controlled by the RC time constant formed by RA and C. To adjust the pulse width, a potentiometer could be used in place of RA.

    Regards,

    Alex
