LMX2571: Simultaneous output of RFoutRX and RFoutTX in Synthesizer Duplex Mode

Part Number: LMX2571

Hi,

It's not entirely clear from the datasheet. Can RFoutRX and RFoutTX be configured to output different frequencies simultaneously? Section 7.3.10 states that the "active port" can be switched as well as the frequency. What does "active port" mean here? Does it imply that the other port is inactive and thus not simultaneously outputting?

We are planning on using Synthesizer Duplex Mode.

Regards,

Jacques

  • Hi Jacques,

Both RX and TX port can be active simultaneously but their frequency will be identical, because there is only one PLL in the chip.

    Active means OUTBUF_R(T)X_EN_F1(2) = 1.

We have two register sets, _F1 and _F2. Only one of the them can be used at a time. If time t1 is using _F1, TX, RX or both port output will be F1. In time t2 you can switch to use F2, then TX, RX or both output will be F2.
