LMK05318B-Q1: Dual Output ability

Part Number: LMK05318B-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK05318B

Hi Expert,

My customer is tend to use LMK05318B-Q1 in their application.

Customer want to output 180.48Mhz and 24.576Mhz at the same time. From my present of view,If the PLL2 use Xo as input rather than Fvco, the LMK05318B-Q1 could support the output. APLL1 and APLL2 outputs are not needed to be multiple relationship, right?

However, my customer cannot get the output by GUI. Would u mind giving me some suggestions?

Kind Regards

Imelda

  • Hi Expert,

Add another requirement, customer needs the IBIS model, would u mind sharing with me by email? Many thanks!

  • Hi Imelda,

    1. For the IBIS, they may use the model for the LMK05318B available in the product page: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/snam226.
    2. 180.48MHz and 24.576MHz cannot be outputted at the same time by the LMK05318B family. The APLL generates the outputs by dividing down the VCO. APLL1 VCO is centered at 2500MHz whereas APLL2 VCO has a wider tuning range of 5500MHz to 6250MHz, which means outputs sourced from APLL1 have less flexibility and must be divisible by 2500MHz. APLL1 is meant to target wired communication applications using 25MHz, 100MHz, 156.25MHz, 312.5MHz, etc.

    Regards,
