LMX2820: Spurious while sweeping the Entire VCO Frequency Range with 25kHz Step Size

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2820

Hi TI Support,

Can the LMX2820 PLL sweep its entire VCO frequency range with a 25kHz step size, utilize instant calibration to maintain a lock time under 25us, and keep spurious levels under -55dbc? If so, what settings or configurations are needed?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

  • Hi Kris,

25kHz per step means you will put it in fractional mode, likely your loop bandwidth is much higher than 25kHz, so spurs will happen. I could not tell exactly, as there are too many channels, but I think it is possible that some channels cannot meet -55dBc requirement.
