LMX2595EVM: TICS Pro unable to connect to Reference Pro

Part Number: LMX2595EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Tool/software:

I have a LMX2595EVM+Reference Pro but can not connected to TICS Pro. I am using virtual machine on MAC, TICS Pro can not recognize any usb device. There was a one time firmware update pop-up window when usb port connected for the first time.

  • Hi Jingkun,

Can you try again with a Windows PC? Just wanted to find out if this is a software or hardware issue.

  • We've never tested (or intended) the USB2ANY firmware programming process in a virtual machine. There's steps in the process where the USB drivers are reset or re-initialized that are unlikely to proceed smoothly when performed through a virtual machine. Please re-attempt firmware programming with a Windows-native PC.

Because of the way the firmware loader binary is integrated into the USB2ANY DLL, TICS Pro's copy of the USB2ANY DLL may no longer be capable of detecting the USB2ANY in its current state. You may need to use the actual firmware loader standalone utility to reflash now. You can find the USB2ANY SDK at the link below; installing this SDK should put the firmware loader binary at C:\Program Files (x86)\TI USB2ANY SDK\bin. There's another folder in the USB2ANY SDK directory called "Firmware" into which you can place the text file below to allow for flashing the USB2ANY firmware directly to the latest version used by TICS Pro 1.7.7.1 or higher.

  • Thank you Derek and Noel for commenting, it solves my problem perfectly, now I can connect to the dev board.
