LMK04828: Can we Route clkin2 to oscin pin by programming

Hi,

I am unable to provide input clock  to OSCIN pin of LMK PLL due to some hardware issue in the source side.Also the unit is in closed condition.

Whereas I have other provisions of providing clock at CLKIN pins in the hardware.

Is there any possibility of configuring oscout as input as CLKIN2, and route that CLKIN2 to OSCIN pin by programming any of the registers ?

    There is no firmware configuration which can achieve an alternate input for the PLL2 R port on LMK04828. The only way to supply a clock to PLL2 R port is via OSCin pins.

    If the layout is fixed but rework is possible, you could consider switching to LMK04832, which is p2p with LMK04828 and supports nearly all configuration options plus a mux to route any of the CLKin inputs to PLL2 R port. The register programming for LMK04832 is different from LMK04828, and obviously there would be rework involved which may not be feasible in your situation.

    If you can blue-wire some fixes onto a board somewhat easily, you could route CLKin1 -> FB_MUX -> OSCout -> OSCin, with blue-wire from OSCout to OSCin. Again, this requires rework which may not be feasible in your situation.
