LMX2582EVM: Formula for Calculations

Tool/software:

We are using LMX2582 eval board which we are able to program with GUI and output is also as desired.

But when we integrate with our controller(STM32) the calculations which we require to program are not provided in the python script.

Formula to calculate Fnum, Fden is not given in datasheet or GUI script.

It would be helpful if any assistance is given. Along with example.

Sorry Mihir,
I misread your question you already stated you have used the GUI.

Wherever you have your TICSpro installed, you should be able to navigate to the corresponding part and find the .py files

For example:
../TiCS PRO/Configurations/Devices/PLL + VCO/LMX2582/LMX2582_PLL.py

I have tried calculating as per the formula given in python file, but that seems to be some different values which are shown in GUI.

I'm not able to corelate the formula given in GUI and my calculations.

Hi Mihir,
Do you know which frequencies you need?
If so you can use the console to figure out all the write commands you need.

As you change registers you will see the necessary register writes.

Yes I know which frequencies will be used for the project.

The frequency will be in certain range which the user will change as per the requirement, so I will have to calculate register values as per the frequency input. I can not pre determine all the register values. Also this will be integrated with our custom board with controller.

Do you any proper formula for calculation of PLL_NUM,PLL_DEN, PreScalar value??
