Hi team,

In datasheet of LMX2491, Icc is 50mA typ when fPD=100Mhz for all Vcc pins. how this spec is tested? could you pls share the test settings if we want to test this spec on board?

My customer want to test power consumption of LMX2491, and they test the total current on pin6,7,8 and when power up, the current will reach to 111.8mA with VCC=VCP=3.3V, which didn't match Icc spec on datasheet.

Could you pls share any suggestion here? Thanks!

Hi Rayna,

Test condition is shown in the table. Fin should not be matter. I have a LMX2492 board with a 9.6GHz VCO, I've got similar current consumption as shown in the datasheet.

What is your power down current?

Hi Noel,

When you test EVM, which mode are configured to work?

For datasheet spec here, LMX2491 is only powered up and default register settings, isn't it? Which parts are working when we test this spec?

customer is using modulated waveform generator mode and to make LMX2491 to output a ramping waveform. So if datasheet spec is only in default setting, that will make sense.

The current consumption specification refers to normal operation without ramping.
