Tool/software:

There are LMX2594 and a LMK04832 on our board.

LMX2594 OSCIN and SYNC are all from LMK04832. Where OSCIN = 100MHz and SYNC = 2.5MHz.

The OSCIN and SYNC traces are well matched from LMK04832 to LMX2594.

The LMK04832 outputs are all aligned or synchronized between multi-boards.

We need to get all LMX2594 outputs aligned or synchronized between multi-boards

1. Can SYNC be continuous signal?

2. Was SYNC pin really needed here?

I could not get LMX2594 in SYNC. The outputs are jittering when enable VCO_PHASE_SYNC.

I'm looking for helps.

Hello new2day,

1. The issue with a continuous sync it will keep trying to sync the devices. Sync should be a pulse.

2. This depends on which category of SYNC you’re application requires. A CAT2 SYNC can be done via software due to not being time critical but a CAT3 SYNC requires a time critical pulse at the PSYNC pin.

are you following this procedure for sync?
