LMX2592: Lmx2592 idac calculate

Part Number: LMX2592
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2594

Tool/software:

Hello ,

I want to calculate the idac in lmx2592 like partial assist in lmx 2594.

There is a table in lmx2594 datasheet that show the value range of CcoreMin/CcoreMax AcoreMin/AcoreMax at  each vco and with these information I can calculate an estimate VCO_DACISET_START.

1-Can you send the same information to the lmx2592 for daci calculation?

2-Is the daciset formula same as lmx2594?

3-Can I use the calculate daci in lmx2592 as final daci ?

4- Can I use the calculate daci for all temperatures?

Best Regards

Shay

  • Hi Shay,

We don't have this information for LMX2592.

The formula in LMX2594 is quite generic, it is trying to scale the initial value based on the frequency and range of Ccore and Acore.

Partial assist still take VCO calibration, so the final VCO parameters will depend on the temperature when we perform the calibration.

  • Hi Noel,

I am using in LMX2592 VCO 1,4,7 and all the readback of DACI was between 370 to 455 for all temperatures.

    Are the DACI values normal?

How can I estimate the DACI for LMX2592?

    Best Regards

    Shay

  • Hi Shay,

Valid IDAC range is approx. between 250 and 450.

Why would you like to use partial assist? if you want a shorter lock time, why not full assist?
