What's the simplest proven scheme that customers have successfully implemented in preloading the LMX2820 with register values via SPI bus, without using FPGAs or microcontrollers?

I don't aware we have customers not using a microcontroller with LMX2820.

Many customers use the MSP430 and other microcontrollers to preload the LMX2820 or just about any LMX's with their default register settings through the SPI bus. I found that using a SPI FRAM is the simplest way of preloading the LMX 2820 short of using a microcontroller, unless someone calls me out.
