LMX2594: SYSREF

Part Number: LMX2594

Tool/software:

Hi.

RFOUTA operates at 3 GHz, with a period of 333 ps, and SYSREF is centered between two rising edges of RFOUTA. As shown in the diagram, t1 and t2 represent the delays from the rising edge of SYSREF to the rising edge of RFOUTA, with t1 and t2 both approximately equal to 150–200 ps, and t1 + t2 = 333 ps. Under high and low temperatures, will t1 and t2 change significantly due to delay variation? Is it possible for t1 or t2 to become very small, for example, less than 50 ps?

  • Hi Gu,

The device is design to have the rising edge of the SYSREF clock located right in the middle of the RF clock. Since both SYSREF clock and RF clock are generated from the VCO, I believe the drift over temperature should be identical. That means, the edge will always align.
