Tool/software:

I want to design circuit with 2 seconds delay in output waveform change compared to input waveform change and I am considering using TLC555-Q1.

However, datasheet seems to assume input waveform is square waveform with constant frequency.

In my case, input waveform is always HIGH, drops to LOW when certain problem occurs and then recovers to HIGH again when problem is solved.

Under these input waveform conditions, is the TLC555-Q1 suitable for the purpose?

    Hello Jiwon, welcome to the TI e2e forums.

    You have a very common request. I have seen the same request three times this week. In all three cases there was not a full description of desired behavior.

    Is it this list?

    1) High to low input causes a 2 second output. 

    2) Low to high input causes a 2 second output. 

    3) What should happen if the input changes while 2 seconds is still running?

    All input cases must be considered.
