CDCM6208: Does CDCM6208 support 100MHz external clock reference input?

Part Number: CDCM6208

Tool/software:

dears,

Does CDCM6208 support 100MHz external clock reference input? could the user configure the output clock via pin control in this condition?

thanks!

  • dears,

the input clock is Differential Input Characteristics or Single-Ended Input Characteristics.

there is no options with 100MHz input in the table 6 in the datasheet.

    thanks!

  • Andrew,

From Table 6.9 and 6.10 the CDCM6208 can support 100MHz clock inputs:

    Thanks,

    Kadeem

  • dear Kadeem,

Section 6.9 and 6.10 show that the CDCM6208 can support 0.008~250MHz clock inputs, but 100MHz is not included in the options listed in table 6 for pin mode. so we do not know how to configure the pin control setting with 100MHz input. would you please help to share us the details on how to configure it via pin control?

    thanks a lot!

  • Andrew,

The device configuration can be created using TICS Pro using the CDCM6208Vx profile(s). The VCO frequency is different between the V1 and V2 devices, so ensure that you are using the correct profile that matches your device.

If the minimum acceptable frequency is 0.008MHz, and the maximum acceptable frequency is 250MHz, then 100MHz (between the minimum and maximum) is also acceptable.

Table 6 is explicitly for pre-configured ROM settings. The device can still be written to on startup to operate with the desired settings, but there is not programmable memory for changing the startup configuration.

If you can provide more information about your application requirements, I can recommend a device if EEPROM programmability is required.

    Thanks,
    Kadeem
