CDCE913-Q1: SCH REVIEW

Part Number: CDCE913-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE6214-Q1

Tool/software:

Question 1: The working temperature of the specification is 85℃, but the maximum temperature of our PCB board will be 90℃~95℃. What will be the impact?
Question 2: Crystal oscillator parameters are shown below. Can 27Mhz of Y1 output of 913 meet the requirements of 943?
Question 3: Can the Y3 output of 913 meet the requirements of 941 two screen parameters?

Crystal spec

  • Jian,

    1. If you exceed the maximum operating temperature, we cannot guarantee proper device functionality. I will note that the CDCE913-Q1 meets automotive Grade 1 for up to 125°C, so I expect that there is no issue here.
    2. The accuracy of the output clocks is dependent upon the input XTAL frequency, which depends on the capacitive loading. Ensure that the proper load capacitance (8pF in the table that you have provided) is populated in the schematic. Alternatively, the on-chip load capacitance can be used to adjust the loading. My recommendation is to always have footprints for external load capacitors populated, even if only using the on-chip capacitance.
    3. The CDCE913-Q1 is not a particularly low jitter clock generator, and I would not generally recommend it for this application. For better jitter performance, I would recommend using the CDCE6214-Q1 instead to meet the requirements of the DS90UB941.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Kadeem

1、The output voltage of CDCE913-Q1 is 2.5V or 3.3V, and the external clock voltage of  943 is 1.8V. Is there a way around this?

    2、Can you configure these CLKS?

    a : Y1 27Mhz,Y3 136.9Mhz

    b: Y1 27Mhz,Y3 177.98Mhz

  • Jian,

    1. The CDCEL913-Q1 should be used when an output voltage swing of 1.8V is required.
    2. I have created both register configuration files and attached them here. Note that the one for 177.98MHz will be off by about 2.3ppm.
