Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the differential output:

  1. Can I use a differential output directly without converting it to single-ended.
    Purpose: To provide a sampling clock for a DAC.
    Sampling Frequency: 12 GHz

The DAC requires a differential sampling frequency input. Instead of using a balun, can I directly connect the LMX2594 differential output to the DAC?

  1. If it is possible, can you share the circuit configuration?

  2. What would be the output power level when using differential mode?

    Hi Charan,

    LMX2594's outputs are differential, you can AC-couple the output pins to the DAC without a balun. 

    Output power is configurable via register programming. All the power measurement (in dBm) in the datasheet are single-ended, measuring at one of the output pins and have the other pin terminated.
