Hi Team,

Below is the clock output setting that customer needs but cannot output 32MHz properly.

The output clock became 38.xMHz.

Please help check the attached setting file and provide the correct setting if something is wrong with it.

Peter,

What software is this with? Try using this with the TICS Pro software, which we recommend for interfacing with our clocking devices. From what you are showing, 2400MHz / 5 / 15 == 32MHz with no issue.

Peter,

I tested the config on the bench and see no issues. Are any of the other outputs experiencing this ppm issue? Is the input clock the correct frequency? Any offset in the input will be reflected in the outputs.

And as Kadeem asked, are you using TICSPro or another software?

The issue fixed.

Customer needs to change HW_SW_CTRL pin setting to enable I2C first and then write new setting into EEPROM.

Hi Sir,

One more question needs your suggestion.

Since customer needs to control the HW_SW_CTRL pin to write setting code in EEPROM via I2C then change this pin to either 0 or 1 for normal work,

is there any suggestion of cost-effective method for HW_SW_CTRL pin control in the production line?

Peter,

The easiest solution is to use a pull-up resistor to select EEPROM Page 1 at startup if EEPROM programming in-system (as the default for EEPROM Page 0 is to have the device in Pin mode rather than I2C mode).

With this method, the IC needs to be pre-programmed before SMT, right?

If the bare new IC on PCBA with pull-up resistor to select the EEPROM page 1, how to program it with PC?

Peter,

The IC can be programmed before SMT, or after using I2C. For PC, TICS Pro and a USB2ANY can be used to program the device using the CDCE6214-Q1 profile. In system, the registers can be written as desired and then this sequence followed:

Hi Sir,

After discussing with customer, they prefer to use TICSPro and USB2ANY to program CDCE6214 profile after SMT.

They also need to prepare an SOP for the factory operator.

What is your suggestion for the SOP flow for them to program CDCE6214?

Peter,

When using TICSPro, you can write a file to the EEPROM.

I made an EEPROM file based on the config you sent previously with the same config on both EEPROM pages.

Please follow the "Write to EEPROM from File - Using TICSPro" section of the attached powerpoint.
