NA555: NA555 fab transfer and datasheet Rev.J changes

Tool/software:

Hi,

We have reviewed the "Changes from Revision I (September 2014) to Revision J (February 2025)" section in the latest datasheet Rev.J for NA555, and would like to confirm the following points regarding the fab transfer and datasheet update:

  1. We are concerned whether any changes have been made to the IC's Electrical Characteristics due to the recent fab transfer.
To properly evaluate replacement and adoption, we would appreciate your confirmation if there are any changes in the electrical characteristics.

  2. Also, we noticed that the "Initial error of timing interval" specification has been removed from the "Switching Characteristics" table in Rev.J.
Could you kindly explain the reason for this deletion? (e.g., change of specification policy, alignment to latest standards, etc.)

  3. Although we have checked the datasheet and found no apparent changes in the Electrical Characteristics section, if there are any minor updates or clarifications that we should be aware of, we would appreciate it if you could share that information as well.

We are reaching out to confirm these points for evaluation and future design considerations.

Thanks,

Conor

  • Hello Conner,

    1) No changes to data sheet EC tables

    2) I suspect that current PCN change performance doesn't meet the removed section. Final PCN material will meet 'Initial error of timing interval' (I expect it to be put back later)

    3) PCN change in design is not final yet. I expected no significant performance differences with final PCN devices. The device PCN is design / process so a perfect match is not achievable.
