Can CDCE913 VDDOUT be 2.8V?

Hello,

For CDCE913:

The device is featured as capable of either 2.5 or 3.3V output.
Pin 6,7, VDDOUT can be 3.3 or 2.5V in "Terminal Functions".
"RECOMMENDED OPERATING CONDITIONS" allows 2.3V to 3.6V range.

The question is that can I tie VDDOUT to 2.8V in order to get 2.8V output clock? It would be possible if 2.5V and 3.3V are lower and upper bounds so that [2.5, 3.3] is a range, but would be impossible if only these two power supply values can be accepted.

And does VO have the same voltage level as VDDOUT?

Could anyone help with this?

Hello Tim,

as specified in the recommended operation conditions, CDCE913 is capable to accept 2.8V at VDDOUT. You can apply any voltage between 2.3V and 3.6V. The 3.3V or 2.5V are the nominal power supplies for this range.

Does the output clock have same maximum voltage level as VDDOUT?

For example,

When VDDOUT=2.3, {Y1, Y2, Y3} max voltage = 2.3
When VDDOUT=3.6, {Y1, Y2, Y3} max voltage = 3.6

Does this relation exist?

Hi Tim,

if you have a high impedance termination at the outputs you will get the ouput swing equal to VDDOUT.

What is the recommended series termination resistor at the output pins {Y1, Y2, Y3}?

typ series termination is 18 ohm.(page 7 figure 2)
