LMX2820: Support Required for In-Band Spur Issue with LMX2820 in Ku-Band Application

Part Number: LMX2820

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

I am using the LMX2820 PLL in my application to generate Ku-band single-tone signal. A clean and stable 100 MHz reference from TCXO is provided to the device. However, I am observing in-band spurious signals that I am unable to suppress below the acceptable level of -60 dBc.
Could you please confirm the typical in-band spurious performance of the LMX2820 for Ku-band frequencies? Additionally, I would appreciate your guidance on how to minimize these spurs using the TICS Pro GUI settings.

For your reference, I have attached:
1. The measured spectrum results showing the spurs
2. Relevant TICS Pro GUI screenshots of the current configuration

Thank you for your patience and support.

Best regards,
Vamshi Krishna.

  • Hi Vamshi,

This configuration should not generate these spurs, please check your power supply and reference clock. If possible, try remove the SPI connection after programing, see if the noise is coming from the MCU.

FYI, below is the plot I got from the EVM, there is no spurs.
