LMK1C1102: Residual phase noise

Part Number: LMK1C1102

Tool/software:

Application note SNAA411 is very good, but I wonder if the Rohde FSWP you were using had the B64 option, residual phase noise. If so, it would be instructive to see how that measurement compares to your model plots on p17. I require -135 at 10Hz offset and 100MHz carrier. Do you know if following the 1102 with gates from the 74LVC1G family will degrade the close-in 1/f noise?

  • Hi Gary,

Our R&S FSWP does not have the B64 option you are referring to. We would have to perform RMS subtraction in order to find the specific additive phase noise contributed by the buffer in the signal chain.

I will forward this question to the logic team for further help.

    Thanks,

    Michael
