LMK03318: How to hit 25PPM LVDS?

Hey Folks,

Hoping for a design with 3 LVDS outputs, 100 - 250MHz

The goal is 25PPM or better

I believe we just need to use an extremely stable external XTAL... I am confused by the datasheet section mentioning the fine frequency-margining feature. I read it as adding 50PPM... so my main question come to: could we hit the 25PPM requirement and how?

And… customer is curious if there’s anything programmable with fewer outputs to achieve a smaller package size. Open to any suggestions you have. Appreciate it!!

Cameron,

CDCE6214 can be used for this as the PLL, but a very stable input (either an XTAL with a very tight tolerance or a TCXO/OCXO. The CDCE6214 and the LMK03318/LMK03328 devices have configurable load capacitors on the input pins for further adjustment for accuracy.
