My customer would like to input AC-coupled single-end clock to LMKDB1102.

Question1

Is it okay to input AC-coupled single-end clock to this device?

If so, what would be the input interface configuration?
Customer would like to see diagram like below.

Question2

What would be the maximum peak to peak amplitude for AC-coupled Single-end clock input?

Hello Kei,
LMKDB1102 input stage is not designed for a single ended input.
It requires a differential HCSL, LP-HCSL or LVDS signal.

SE input is not possible.

However, I see some comments on the datasheet for single-end inputs like below. (Datasheet p.22)

Theoritically, may the input stage be single-ended? (Customer can accept some jitter performance degradation)

I am thinking single-ended input configuration to be something like this. (Might this work?)

Hi Kei,
Unfortunately, no.
The input was designed in mind that it would only ever receive a differential input. I have confirmed with design as well.
