I’m completely new to this product and planning to purchase the evaluation board. Could you please let me know if it’s possible to view the output waveform using a DSO? Or is a spectrum analyzer absolutely necessary?

Hi There,
Yes, we can measure the output signal with a scope as long as the bandwidth of the scope is higher than the signal frequency.
However, if you want to measure spurs, phase noise, you need to use spectrum analyzer or phase noise analyzer.

When you use them simultaneously, they will output the same signal.
Dear Noel,
I received the LMX2571EVM board today. With the initial setup, I was getting error with USB2ANY adaptor. I am getting a dialogue box of USB2ANY Firmware loader. I tried locating BSL button by pressing it from adapter. But nothing identified. I am unable proceed. Kindly do the needful.

Try this:
1. reboot the PC
2. Run TICS Pro
3. plug-in the USB cable to the USB2ANY while pressing the BSL switch.

4. Then you should see the Update Firmware button.

Dear Noel,
I have followed up the instructions given by you. When I connect USB cable to USB2ANY and press the BSL I am getting dialogue boxes as below. Clicking OK on first box, it move to second dialogue box and then nothing proceeds. Is there any requirement for any driver or firmware loader software for USB2ANY?

1. With TICS Pro opened and then plug in the USB cable to the USB2ANY, you may get this

2. Click OK
3. You should get this

4. Unplug the USB cable.
5. Press and hold the BSL button
6. Plug in the USB cable
7. You should get this

8. Click the Update Firmware button, firmware update will begin
9. Click the Close button after it is done.

10. Check the USB connection in TICS Pro by clicking USB communications → Interface. Make sure the USB Connected button is turned green.
