Hi, I am trying to create a config file for the CDCE906 chip using TI Pro Clock's Programming Assistant. I need to set specific values for the divider and multiplier, but it only allows me to set the input and output frequencies. My input is a variable differential input with a range of 20-40kHz and I need to have specific values for multiplier and divider to have variable output at the end with respect to the variable input. I was wondering if you would know how to resolve the problem. I have the CDCEx06 Programming EVM working, I just need to create a config file to program the chip.

I also wanted to confirm whether I placed the CDCE906 chip correctly, because the schematic in the manual was a bit different from the one on board.

Disha,

I will note that we do not guarantee that the device will operate normally in PLL mode for input frequencies less than 1 MHz.

For building a configuration, exit the "Programming Assistant" and use the "SMBus Interface" window instead:

Here, you can modify all of the device settings and then write the EEPROM with the desired settings.

What is the output frequency range that you require? A true PLL device solution may be best here over one of the clock generator devices.

Hi Ankit,

Our team does not have product specifically design for use in kHz range.

TI does have some legacy products to support this frequency range. For example, CD4046 (https://www.ti.com/product/CD4046B). This is a very old device, nobody in our team has experience on it, basically we are not able to provide very specific application support for this device. You can find all the information of this device in ti.com, that is also all we have for this device.
