LMX2595: Single tone frequency.

Part Number: LMX2595

Tool/software:

We have LMX2595 on our custom board, which we want to program for 6600 Mhz for which we designed loop filter using Sim PLLatium.

But when we program single tone frequency using Tics Pro GUI we don't get any output.

We are getting output on another frequency which is not desired (7.3GHz).

Please check if any mistakes has happened from our side in GUI.

I have uploaded GUI file.

  • Hi Mihir,

your configuration is fine although I suggest use the default VCO Assist settings for any frequency.

I can lock the EVM to 6600.05Mhz, using your configuration.

Since you are using TICS Pro to program your board, we can eliminate it is a software problem, likely your problem is due to hardware.

  • I was able to solve the problem. The problem was not due to any hardware but with TICs Pro GUI.

When we connect our board, the GUI does not have option to program all the register. We have to go to Raw Register option to write all register for the first time.

Then if we change any other parameter then it programs the board. Any change in frequency requires FCAL_EN to be toggled which is as per the datasheet.

  • Hi Mihir,

Correct, the operation has been documented in the datasheet.
